Prepare work by gathering information and materials to create flyers and posters. Devise an advertising strategy that will promote and endorse the community to its people.

Mediums such as TV broadcast, radio can be expensive and over the budget for us to promote the event.

One promotional medium that has been around for years is word of mouth. In fact, word of mouth is how advertising as we now know it started. After seeing the flyers and posters the locals will spread the news and for someone to promote something through word of mouth is the very basic of advertising. 

The use of street has been effective in communities and tourist destinations. It does not only beautify the community but also informs people of the current and upcoming events and activities in the area. 
A huge benefit to use posters to promote the event is its tangible nature. The people in the community will physically hold the flyer which means we are half way to getting our message across. How the flyer is designed and printed can impact on whether or not the people will decide to read on to find out more information. This is why it is important to make it stand out and also ensure our main message is clear and easy to see.

To grabs readers’ attention the title will be the main focus. Light, bright and colorful to give readers a happy feeling. The colour will communicate the mood of the event. It is simple and clean. It pops because it has high enough contrast and saturation. 

3. Colour:
Than I decided to use soothing colours because it will grab attention on its own but did it in a way that it wont overpower the text. I decided to use blue, orange and yellow because it is bright but still soft enough to contrast with the text colour.

 4. Text:
After different thumbnails I used simple and thick font. The funky fonts look good on the computer but they are hard to read from a distance and don’t photocopy well. 

We are going to post and handout our flyers early, at least one month before the event. This will ensure that our poster is posted before others events and help publicize our event early on. We will keep checking as days go and re-post the flyers where necessary.
 
 In terms of advertisement the poster will be put up at schools and universities because children are always looking for things to do and they are more likely to encourage their friends and parents to attend. 
 
 It will reach our community by:

• Door to door mail drop

• Newspaper insert

• Street distribution

• Instore distribution
