Claim: Kentucky participates in summer nutrition programs to help close the hunger gap.
Evidence: "summer nutrition programs in the state served 32,243 children in July 2016." Kentucky can build on this progress by redoubling outreach efforts throughout this summer to make sure children and families are aware of this valuable program. The Summer Nutrition Programs can make a huge difference for the more than 200,000 food insecure children in Kentucky.”
Support: they mention the article that in july of 2016 the served over 32,000 kids. Not all kids are getting reached but they are getting there.

Purpose: the purpose of this article is to show that students were going on hunger strike, because they did not have the money to pay for school and their meals.
B. negative connotation
C. logos
The negative connotation is that these students are going on hunger strike, and the students can't qualify for food stamps unless they are going to college and working 20 hours a week. This appeals to the audience logs because these are using their logic about how things are unfair and expensive while going to school.

I was surprised that 44.6 percent of kids in Cincinnati were living below the poverty level. How have we let this happen there should be a change in how things are done and we should be helping those people financially that can't help themselves. I was though happy to see that the Child Poverty Collerative launched an idea that should help 10,000 children and 5,000 families in the next five years.

Claim: Loans may be donated to schools that do not have the finances to pay for everything.
Evidence: "some potentially could fail to meet their financial obligations when the fiscal year ends next June." "districts are especially struggling with a decline in coal-related tax revenues, which recently cost some of them between $100,000 and about $1 million"
The article is using ethos to show that the money that needs to be used on the school, staff and students is not being used for them but on the revenue taxes.
Support: These loans are not getting payed back in enough time which is putting schools in more debt.

Imagery and repetition
C. pathos and ethos
In the article it says “As of now, I have on four shirts, two hoodies and a jacket,” this is putting into perspective how cold it is in the school and this appeals to the audiences ethos. Throughout the article they more than once brought up how it is uneccaptle to make kids learn and have teachers tech in these conditions, this appealing o the audiences pathos.

The schools that are cancelling their safety checks should not be. With 18 school shooting happening just from the first two months of 2018, and the temperature condition in Baltimore. Schools need that money to make sure the air and heat work, this money is aswell used to stop intruders from coming in. I'm not sure where these schools are coming from but to me it doesn't make sense.

We should wanna do something about it, to hal those people.
B.Imagery and personal pronouns
C. Pathos
In all of the photo each person had something different to say about being homeless, how it does not define who they are and they are not to be any different than anyone else. We see their names and how they get through this in just a couple of words. See this makes us sad and upset to know that these are what people are going through.

Kids are just kids and the fact that everynight they are sleeping on the ground, in the cold is horrible, but even worse than that the areas that have been sleeping have to be gone every morning so people don't dwell on those kids and don't know their are kids sleeping outside. Your higher income countries should be putting some of their money towards countries living in poverty if they have the means to.
