Katya + Jojo want to routinize students answering our unit's essential questions and support them in deepening their responses. We're going to use the 3,2,1 bridge protocol where students are given the same activity at the start of a unit and end of the unit, and reflect on how their answer to the EQ has changed. We will also incorporate sentence stems throughout the unit to help them add complexity to their responses!

My PBL goal is to empower students to advocate for themselves and what they want their final product to be for their ELA project. They already have choice and voice in the options presented, but I plan to conference with all my focus students and reflect on what scaffolds have worked best for them so that I can differentiate their projects with their suggestions and feedback. I will gather evidence in my conferences and a final reflection survey on the project. I will also evaluate my focus students on their milestone projects to assess that my differentiations are working for them.

My PBL goal is to increase the percentage of Students with Disabilities achieving higher passing grades and producing more rubric-aligned, high-quality work through structured inquiry-based learning. I will implement a Quality Checker role to ensure work aligns with the rubric and use data-driven reflection by collecting individual and group rubric scores from assessments to support sustained inquiry and growth.

My goal for sustained inquiry: to design and use a reflection routine for my ENL students, to help them identify their strengths and goals, and increase engagement.

My hope is to conference with them regularly (and peer conferencing?) to share their reflection rubrics and take ownership of the process. The inquiry will involve examining the impact of the routine over time and also the design of the tool itself. I have a draft of the tool but am eager to modify it as time passes, and as I see more and more other examples.
