The thing that really strikes me about this passage is just how clear and blunt its message is. The message can be seen when God asks the rich man about his wealth: “to whom will they belong?” they, of course, being in reference to material possessions and wealth. This line really resonated with me the first time I read it.  This is incredibly different from how we, as Americans, think of reality currently, as for us, materialism is the most important mindset. We want one thing in this world: Money. Jesus is telling us to follow Him and we will have eternal life in heaven. Riches should be shared or used to help others in need. People that focus on their riches are focused on false idols. The focus in a person’s life should be God and the relationship that person has with God. The Kingdom of God is far better than any riches we will have on earth.

In this passage, Jesus denies the devil's temptation to worship him, and to test God's faith. Jesus stays true to God and the holy spirit fills him. I believe this shows Jesus’ divinity in the way he was able to control his human emotions and deny the devil. The devil told Jesus that if he was the Son of God, then he should be saved. Jesus still denied the devil. Truly understanding how difficult this is for Jesus, can leave someone in active thought. This requires inhuman strength to deny the devil, even at your lowest times. This shows that the kingdom of God is evil ridden. A place of incomprehensible love, light, and serenity.

Analysis:

This parable explores ways upon how to find and truly reach the kingdom of God and the powers it possesses. It describes the kingdom as a hidden treasure, meaning that it can only be found in an active search. The kingdom of God can only be reached if we actively participate in its realization on earth.

But I think it's the best He possibly could have done. Children are seen as important but at the same time could also be seen as someone frivolous.
