Between Hamlet and Crime and Punishment, I have made several connections.
•Hamlet and Raskolnikov both let their thoughts take control.
•Both Hamlet and Raskolnikov have strange relationships with their mothers.
•Hamlet and Raskolnikov felt their murders were justified.
•Death of loved ones let to worsened madness.
•Dunya and Ophelia have very different roles as sisters
•Razhumikin believes that Raskolnikov is impacted by other things going on in life (not murder). Hamlets friends and family also blame other things for his madness, as opposed to planning murder.

Raskolnikov murders for what he believes is the good of the whole while Hamlet does so simply to satisfy his own revenge.

Hamlet because he is the Prince--of course he is going to get whatever he wants. What so great about these crimes if no ones there no to take credit for it.

I feel like the parallels exist more in the beginning half of the book than the end. Earlier on, their similarities lied within their insanity, but as they started to fall further down, the distance between them grew; Hamlet seemed to be more motivated, focusing solely on his revenge. Raskolnikov seemed to become more sick, trying to prove himself almost--every time he would think about confessing, he would talk about the Ubermench. When it came to the end, Hamlet died after completing his goal, where as Raskolnikov is shipped off to Siberia.
I would almost relate Raskolnikov to Ophelia, because they are driven mad. Although Raskolnikov did this to himself, the madness that ensues seems similar, and I think me expecting Raskolnikov to commit suicide strengthens this similarity for me. Hamlet, however, could be seen like Porfiry, having this complex plan and waiting for the right moments to strike. It was not enough to simply reveal the crime, but to make sure everything played out perfectly.

- I see a strong connection of friendship within the two stories; Razumikin is to Raskolnikov as Horatio is to Hamlet. Both Hamlet and Raskolnikov don't outright tell their friends of their knowledge or what exactly they plan on doing (and although Raskol has a confession of what he's done, not what has been done against him or his father) Horatio and Razumikin are able to pick up on their motivations and what is going on with them.
- Both stay true to their time period, in which women are lower beings to the men; however, we see the strength of Sonya and Dunya as the novel went on, which is something that the vague characters of Ophelia and Gertrude were never fortunate enough to be given
- The subject of death remains prominent within C & P with Svid's suicide towards the end, but is no where near the intensity of Hamlet's deaths; by the end of Hamlet, there are virtually no crucial characters remaining other than Horatio, in which a clean slate is portrayed for the kingdom to start anew with Fortinbras. But C & P leaves off on the idea that Raskol will continue on upon release from prison, learning nothing. While Hamlet comes to an acceptance of his death, what has happened, and Claudius paid for his actions, there is nothing learned by Raskol and we are left to believe he will commit the same crimes again
