Simple past perfect in English
The past tense also has its own past and we know it grammatically as the past perfect simple.

This verb tense is used to indicate the past moment in which something happened before another event also happened in the past tense.

Since the past perfect simple indicates that the situation or event has already ended, it always emphasizes the result.

How is it formed?
From the conjugation of the auxiliary verb have in the perfect past tense, had, with the main verb in its past participle, like this:
