My idea for the artwork is instead of something scary or sad, I make it into something happy, like a selfie. I am going to to a very warm color color scheme, just like in the original artwork and keep the characters mostly the same. If I do the back shot I will make up some foreground from my imagination. I will use oil pastels.

 My idea for the artwork is instead of something scary or sad, I make it into something happy, like a selfie. like using charcoal because it is could for doing skin tones.  I had some trouble on the colors, but overall I felt pretty good. I Normally don't use color but this time I did.

I liked using charcoal because I could do blue as the main tone.  I plan on using charcoal again in the future because it is fun to use.

        To make my art I used color pencils to make the art color full. I used shape to create the dinosaur. And finally I used line to create the trees and leaves. I think that my art work turned out good.

This piece of artwork was inspired by Nighthawks, a painting by Edward Hopper. The inspiration in my artwork was with the shadow, how some areas are dark with a contrasting bright area. I incorporated that into my artwork with buildings in dark at the bottom with a beautiful sunset. The mountains blocked some of the sun, and with light sources, the farthest mountain is the darkest with the closest being the lightest. I used the line, shape, and space for my elements of design. I also used emphasis and balance for my principles of design. I balanced the colors out I had emphasis on the sky because other colors were darker. This is how I show my creativity because it was made with the best of my ability and a creative idea. I used inspiration and elements and principles of design.

The tools used to create it was a pencil, color pencils, blending tool, and ruler. I used the pencil to trace everything out and the ruler for straight lines. The color pencils were my main coloring tools. I used the colors red, yellow, orange, 4 types of green, black, and 2 types of grey. The blending tool was used to blend the colors together. I started with the buildings. I wanted to have them with a 3D shape, so I added shadows. From there, I created the hills and the sun. I used the ruler to make pointy mountains. I then colored it. I used black and grey for the mountains and the buildings, green for the hills, and yellow, orange, and red for the sun and sky. I am proud of what I made and think it is a great artwork.  

Water Lily Pond with the Freedom Tower in New York City. I did this to represent peace and freedom. I incorporated texture, line, and shape in my artwork. I tried to use the bridge as an ‘escape’ to the real world where many things are not peaceful. I used lines to box in the freedom tower from the sky of a similar color. 

           I used the principle of emphasis to show the emphasize the Freedom Tower and the escape bridge. This is to express how life treats you versus how you want life to treat you. — Jay Davè 7th Purple
