Beginning in Australia, the brothers performed at the Redcliffe Speedway in order to get pocket money. Their first major hit in Australia was "Spicks and Specks," which had won Best Single of the Year. However, their lack of success in Australia led to the brothers returning to their homeland of England. There, the brothers met their producer, Robert Stigwood and they signed under Polydor Records. Before the release of their first album, two new members Colin Petersen and Vince Melouney were added. However, after a few years, Petersen and Melouney left, putting the band to the original trio. During their career, they were known as the "Kings of Disco."
