When the youth watch television or listen to music it causes a reaction that they see it is okay for people their age to act out the way the are seeing others do. There are so many forms of violence, whether it is actual violence or sexual violence as well. But none of it is acceptable. As below states, " no one is wholly immune to the media " you act the way you do because you chose to be that way even though the media influences to an extent.

What is the statistical evidence of the amount of violence and sexually explicit material being presented on television and in video games? Has it increased, decreased, or remained even from the 1950's through current day?

Over 20 years, the media violence has increased dramatically and made the violence worse than it was in the 1950s. The music is more violent and cursing occurs more than it use to and the video games and tv has increased as well just as much.

The amount of violence that has occured in society because of the violence in music, television, and games has made things worse than ever before. People believe that because they can kill people on the video game or hear someoone singing it in lyrics and on tv that it will be okay for them to do it in real life too and get that sense of thrill from the violence. It doesn't have to neccessarily be killing but being violent in general.

Is society becoming desensitized to actual violence and sexually deviant behavior based on what they watch or listen to?

Is society the victim of the media? I read that and felt a huge feeling towards that. I believe that the media has affected our generation and even generations older than mine from the new founded media that has been around for the past few years now that talk sexual and violently about whatever it is that they decide to base their subjects on. It affects everyone in a certain way, good or bad. But when the youth begin to think it is okay to act in the way that music talks about, that the television shows you it is okay to do, and that the video games allow you play and interact with do... There is a problem with the youth seriously thinking that it is okay for that to happen because it is not okay at all in any way. The behavior of them is unacceptable!!
