A struggle between two opposing forces in a story can be internal (something the character struggles with, like whether to study for their test or play video games) or external ( a character handling an outside force, such as my two cats disagreed about which one could rest on the windowsill and started swatting each other).

The reader is provided with information at the start of a story. This usually includes character introductions, setting, and the main conflict. It can also include background information the reader needs for the story.
