The raising and slaughtering of livestock requires food, water, land and medication, hence why it is the most resource-intensive food we produce. Meat and dairy use 83% of all farmland and generate 60% of agriculture's greenhouse gas emission in the shape of methane and CO2. Agricultural production will increase the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. The use of fertiliser in production releases nitrous oxide. Current trends predict increases in meat consumption and thus production in the future.

This is why criticism of the beef industry is seen as a Democrat discourse and Republicans automatically do not align with it.
