I have chosen MindChamps' Reading Programme that focuses on teaching young children how to read in their early years. This programme involves children from aged 3 to 7. There are many levels of difficulty to choose from depending on the child's ability and skill.

For my video resource, I have chosen this video by the YouTube channel, 'Bounce Patrol'. It is by a group of performers from Melbourne, Australia, who makes educational videos involving all things learning. My favourite video series by them is the 'Learn the Alphabet A to Z'. Not only does it cover letter recognition and letter sounds, it's catchy tune also makes it easy for children to memorise letter sounds.

As founded by Neil D. fleming and Coleen E. mills, it is important to incorporate teaching recources of different learning styles such as visual learners, auditory learners, reading and writing, and kinesthetic. This is a perfect resource for children who are auditory learners, who are more attuned to memorizing through songs.

This activity can be done in the car while transiting from destinations. This is a wonderful tool to help children in identifying and recognizing phonemes. It can also be leveled down or up, depending on the child's developmental appropriateness. Depending on the milestone reached for the child, it is important that there are adults present to be a facilitator that can assist the child should he/she be at a roadblock.

Based on Vygotsky's 'Zone of Proximal Development', children learn best when they have a 'more knowledgeable other', which in this case is the adult/parent facilitating the child.

For the meal time resource, I have chosen this specific activity which is a sensory bag that allows the child to match the upper case to the lower case. The objectives of this activity are, children will be able to recognize upper case and lower case letters and they will be able to develop their fine-motor skills. To level up the activity, an extra step of sounding out the letter sounds can also be done.

This activity is perfect for mealtimes as it is easily accessible and easily stored during meal times. It also doesn't require much space and it mess-free.

I have chosen this simple memory game that allows children to train their memory and recognize beginning sounds of objects. The objectives of this game are, children will be able to improve their cognitive skills and memory, and to identify and sound out the beginning sound of each word.

This activity also develops children patience and turn-taking skills as they will have to wait for turn should they choose a non-matching pair.
