Social Responsibility refers to obligations shared by a society. It is defined as the obligation of an individual to work and cooperate with other individuals and organizations for the benefits of the environment and society at large. If the action or decision is harmful to the society or environment then it is considered socially irresponsible. All individuals are tasked with accomplishing their civic duties for the society as a whole and not just for individual interest. To achieve this we have listed 5 ways on how to be responsible:

1. To be a socially responsible, we must be aware that our actions can affect the people around us. This encourages us to do deed that can benefit the whole society. One way is to voluntarily participate in helping the unfortunate, through alms giving. We can join volunteer groups in giving food, water, and clothes to these people. By doing these, we are learning to become selfless and charitable who think of others more.

2. Participating in different organizations that give success to the people is another way of being socially responsible. For example, an organization that gives free school supplies and teaches children how to read and write. This is a social responsibility since it creates better opportunities for those who want to learn, but do not have the opportunities. All of you are working hand in hand to achieve a common goal and that is to empower those children that want to learn and attend school.

3. Another way of attaining social responsibility as a teenager preparing for adult life is to learn how to embrace other people regardless of color, race, gender, and beliefs. In this way, we can cultivate the culture of appreciation without allowing hate and inequality to foster. This will give way to a peaceful and harmonious society, where we are all united despite each one’s differences.

4. Aside from responding to our call to participate in the society and being one with others, we must also take responsibility in taking care of our physical home. By partaking in movements for the environment such as tree planting, general cleaning, saving water and electricity, and recycling or even just by being mindful of our garbage everywhere, we can contribute something for the betterment of our home. We must remember that even a single strand of plastic can bring a big damage to the environment, so we must be mindful of what we dispose and where we dispose it.

5. Lastly, we must also tackle our legal and ethical responsibilities as members of a society. We must follow rules and laws in order to regulate our safety, ensure our rights, and maintain peace and balance towards the common good. Laws exist to help up assess our actions and be able to distinguish which are right and wrong.

Conclusion:

Social responsibility is truly something that tends to be difficult to obtain or come to terms with, especially since we have only just started walking our own paths and have only recently started to enter society. 'Responsibility' by itself is already something difficult for some people to accept, since it requires people to be liable for themselves and their actions, and some people tend to think of it as a retrain or a burden. However, this is not the case at all. Responsibility is extremely important, especially in a society. If you are responsible, then you are willing to take responsibility for your actions, willing to see your wrongs and faults, and are generally more open to self-development and change. Meanwhile, to be 'socially responsible' is to have obligations to work with groups and individuals in order to benefit the society you live in; it is to cooperate harmoniously with people. Although 'social responsibility' may be difficult to come to terms with, it is not impossible to obtain. As an adolescent, we need to learn to be socially responsible early on as a preparation to enter adult life. We are people within a community, therefore we should be held liable for whatever happens in the community. So by following this list, we've come to understand that even when we aren't quite adults yet, we can already practice social responsibility through the little acts in society such as, volunteering, donating, participating in different organization that aim to create opportunities for all, or even by simply keeping an open-mind and embracing the uniqueness of all individuals. Since we're students in a society, taking our first steps into adulthood, let's all try out best to be socially responsible and benefit our community in every way we can.
