Because social media is so popular, it is helpful in discovering new news but not 100% reliable

Can bring awareness to issues that haven't been brought up, but sometimes their reporting on those issues can be biased.

Each interpretative community relies on the others to “create, deliver and “unpack”” the news however they don’t necessarily agree with each other.
The different communities are also operating out of different “time frames” where journalists are frequently present at or close to the time that the event is occurring where as the educators are delivering the material subsequent to the actual events. Scholars usually are providing insight/opinion/background to the event outside of real time.
Journalistic educators can also interview scholars based on the programmes own interpretation or bias which can give a one sided view of a particular situation.
