In class I use it to help prepare for meetings with administrators, colleagues, and parent-teacher conferences. When approaching any of these scenarios, it allows me to organize my thoughts before I walk into the meetings, and then while the meetings are in place, I continue to place the incoming information into the sections the quadrants that seem fit. At the end, it helps me feel like i'm better able to assess the information exchanged. At times I share the compass or use it to send a summary to the person I met with. Even if I don't share it, though, it helps me feel like I have a better grip of what happened. At home I have used it to organize my thoughts before approaching a decision whether it's about a parenting decision with my ex-husband or trying to identify the direction I want my career to go in.
