1.

This video talks about the basics needed to know in finance and how to get your savings journey started. As well as preparing for retirement and how to utilize opportunities to be able to retire comfortably. They go into detail describing the benefits and differences between 1-5 year goals and 10 year goals, like early retirement or a house deposit.

2.

I included this video because I saw it as base information when connection it to the rest of these videos. It gives you the basic information needed to understand why financial planning and saving is important. As non of the other videos mentioned a retirement plan and went into depth about it, it helps create an understanding of what a generalized goal could be, being to save for retirement. Or to use the opportunities mentioned in the video to start your plan for retirement early. While it talks about retirement planning, it also provides some type of an understanding of goal planning and saving and investments as well, it just provides you with enough knowledge just to have basic information before continuing onto the other videos.

1.

This video gives you in intel on tips for saving accordingly and properly, as well as livelihood tips that help you reach your goals. She goes through this by talking about Parkinson's Law, not being a last minute person, utilizing saving tech, and a yearly review. She goes through each part with what it means, how it applies and the benefits and downsides, so your then able to grasp a better idea as a whole of how you can effectively reach your goals.

2.

I included this video mainly because of Parkinson's Law and how it applies to money and finances. Putting away 10% into savings and making the remaining 90%work to the rest of your expenses and then change that to 20%:80%, 30%:70% and so forth from there. I think this information is very useful as it brings another perspective of saving to the table and having different options is always good so someone is able to find what woks best for them and their current situation.

Video 3: The Basics of Investing

1. First paragraph: Summarize the website/video in your own words. Do not copy from a website, you must write your own paragraph! (copying from a website is considered plagiarism).

This video describes the basics of investing and the difference between the different types; stocks, bonds, mutual funds and the different types of interest or funds.) When going into each one he describes what there is thats needed to know for each one as well as how they all correlate.

2. Sometimes understanding the difference between each of the different types of investing can be complicated and almost feel as though they're going through one ear and out the other. But Including this video was helpful as not only does it teach us about other ways to make income but it goes into simple terms and breaks each one down which is what makes it so different. Nowadays alot of teenagers and students dont understand how it works and thats what makes them give up so easily, but having someone actually break down what it is and what each aspect of it means or does, can be extremely beneficial and even open new doors for them to a whole new world of finance.

1.

This video I included as it relates heavily to youth and students in todays generation. It provides insightful and knowledgeable ways on how to use something of value to society in todays age, to your own benefit. Initially teaching the watcher how to use these different strategies to become long term investments that can be fruit full and beneficial in the end.

2.

I decided to include this video as its one of my favourites in terms of providing knowledge about ways to increase income. As students theres always a saying thats were broke in college or university and surviving off of ramen noodles, the ideas within this video are not only side hustles that are able to be beneficial when your older but also provides some type of advice from someone who is able to retire well. What makes this video different is the audience its presented too, being students or to the youth. The first idea mentioned was having to do with using technology to ones benefit and making money from it. That idea would be great for teens to be apart of, since were so deeply wrapped around social media why not be able to benefit from it.

1.

This website teaches you about how to gain a better understanding of how to looking at your finances as a whole. Being able to do this helps with implementing a clear and effective strategy to create ways to achieve future goals. From cash flow statements to help start out with the basics of understanding, to different rules and advice to continue that knowledge. This website is great especially since the advice being given is from a bank.

2.

This video is important to include because its common for money to get tight, whether it be due to inflation, debt, or simply just because your low on income. This information is useful and beneficial to anyone who's looking to avoid these situations in the future or even who's looking to turn around their current situation. I infer that creating a personal cash flow statement would be most beneficial as your able to visually see where all your money is going, as well as being able to see if your financially stable. Thus allowing you to understand if your able to meet future goals.

1.

This website gives you different ideas that help you create passive income with little to no effort. With many different ideas some can have you questioning if its legal or even if its real. The idea behind this website is due to the simplicity your able to create flows of income just while sitting at home. Which even just using one of these ideas as a starter, you might be able to then create your own.

2.

I chose to include this website as not everyone has the time of day to go out and get another 1 or 2 side hustles in top of a hard working job they might already have. But with this website your able to make money just by sitting on your couch after a long day at work and it could even be for something you enjoy due to the simplicity. This website is also realistic as there arent enough hours in the day to get everything done or to make as much money as you might want to make when working a regular 9-5. But having an easy, effective and efficient side hustle can help tremendously especially if your in need of extra cashflow.

Website 3: How to create a budget

1.

This website is has initially some of the same information as the scotia bank website but shortened for quality over quantity. Except this website is mainly for budgets, how they work, how they benefit and the types of budgets plans there are to offer.

2.

Although this website might be similar in some aspects of information there is still a difference between the two which is why I chose to include it. Some people are not the types to sit there and read in order to obtain the information needed, some need visuals or numbers or videos. This website has a diagram displaying the 50/30/20 rule as well as describing what it means, how it works and what it does. Im a visual person myself so seeing this was a bit more lighter on the eyes as well as visually appealing. Its also organized as a timeline to show the steps needed to creating a budget plan, as well as the aspects needed to understand it. From there you can decipher which one works best for you. I think it was important to include this website as it is still specific to its name and has easier to read information with diagrams and visuals to help the reader understand.

Some times we never are really able to think of what we might need to cut back on without it being right in front of us, and this website allows us to see it from a different perspective. Its a useful piece of information to help reach future goals as well as pushing you to create a budget to see how much you make and how much you can spend.

This image expresses personal finance metaphorically. As theres ways we can increase/grow our cashflow, as well as ways we can decrease/harm it. Through ways such as over spending on harmful things; random subscriptions, eating out to much, random shopping sprees etc. All of those examples would ensure our money would decrease instead of increase. Therefor, its always better to be patient and to do things that ensures growth to our cashflow. Just like we would to ensure a plant grows healthy.

This image expresses the importance of learning about finance. As you can see its an image of someone reading a book that would have to do with money; realistically if no one was taught the benefits of learning about money/finance, most of the economy would fall. Its crucial to have at least some understanding because, money holds a great value in terms of how the economy functions. As well being a functioning member in society , having the knowledge to at least grow income or to understand the do's and dont's would be extremely beneficial even to the average person. The best part about it is that it doesn't cost a thing!

What did you learn about your topic that surprised you the most?

I would say something that struck me the most as interesting was video number four, it provided real life examples as well as realistic side notes within each one. Especially at the very beginning when he said "They always tell you to go to University and then you'll get the highest paying job" which even he knew nowadays is an unrealistic approach to success in todays economy.

2. Provide a real-life example of how this topic is relevant or interesting for you.

This topic is relevant to me as i'm a very money stressed person. It always important I feel financially secure and that im able to provide for myself. With my connection to this topic I not only find it interesting but helpful, as it forced me to do research and find out innovative ways to create income just from being at home sitting on my couch.

3. If you could pass on your knowledge to a family member or friend, what do you think is the most important thing to pass on?

I think the most important piece of knowledge for me to pass on would be the effectiveness of budgeting and how to be able to stick to that budget.
