The Tea Act was passed in 1773. Parliament had made a deal with the British East India Company that allowed this company to sell their tea free of tax in the colonies. Since there was no tax on their tea, it was incredibly cheap! However, this put all other tea companies out of business causing uproar in the colonies.Once again, the colonists rights had been violated!

The Sons of Liberty were secret society formed during this time. They were a group of angry colonists (all of whom were wealthy white men) who had seen injustice in the taxes pressed upon them. Founded by Samuel Adams, they were passionate, and they played a great role in getting the Stamp Act repealed in 1765. They also organize the unforgettable Boston Tea Party,

The Boston Tea Party was a result of the Tea Act. It was organized by, none other than, the Sons of Liberty. Thousands of gallons of tea from the British East India Company had been brought to Boston Harbor, and the Sons of Liberty could not withstand from doing something irrational. They disguised themselves as Indians and attacked the ships, throwing all that tea into the water.

Boston Massacre

The Boston Massacre was a result of the Towshend Acts. A mob of angered (and probably drunk) colonists were harassing a group of British soldiers on guard in the city. They began throwing snow-covered rocks at these soldiers, and the soldiers, who were spooked and frightened, fired on the colonists. They killed three colonists immediately (one of which was Crispus Attucks) and two others who were wounded died soon after. The soldiers were arrested, but they were acquitted thanks to John Adams. Paul Revere, taking advantage of this tragedy, paints a picture using propaganda to upset colonists who are unaware of the happenings in Boston until now.
