So 10/100 = 1/10 = 0·1. ·         Highlight the first 50 squares. How much is highlighted? How else can we write this? Agree that 50/100 is highlighted. That is one-half, five-tenths if we look at the rows and we can also write this as zero point five. ·         Highlight the 25 squares in the top left-hand corner. How much is highlighted now? Agree that this is a quarter of the square, or 25/100, and so 1/4 = 0·25. ·         Rpt for 75 squares highlighting all but the bottom left-hand quarter.
