I live an hour train ride away from downtown, and love being close to it all. At the same time, I enjoy being away from the noise of the city.

My favorite thing about Chicago is all the excellent museums. Time has flown, and I can't imagine working anywhere else. I started out in Magazines and Newspapers, where I also helped out in the genealogy department. We had a major reorganization which brought me to Information Services, which was a fascinating job.
Four years ago I moved into my new home in Teen Services. It was a perfect fit! I am in love with my job and feel extremely lucky to work with an incredible team.

I took two years off before deciding to go back to school, which was a fantastic decision for myself.

Once back in the swing of things, I had a passion for learning. After receiving my Associates from the community college Harper College, I moved to Northeastern Illinois University. 
Thanks to my teacher's passion, and my determination I graduated Summa Cum Laude. 
I have my B.A. in Geography with a minor in Geographic Information Systems. I have a passion for Geography, which is a great deal more than just maps.

My experiences have helped me develop connections with the teens I work with, and give them the confidence they need.

Working in Teen Services has taught me there is still so much I have to learn.
I want to be a better advocate for my teens, and be the librarian I know I'm capable of for them. 
That is why I decided to pursue a degree in Library and Information Science. A few of my coworkers are alumni of SJSU and always speak highly of the program, so it was a logical choice.

I would also like to learn about archives. I love knitting hats, scarves, and cowls.
