         <description><![CDATA[<div> • In the first century BC most of Europe was occupied by Roman Empire.                  • Due to Roman invasion Germanic tribes came into contact with Romans – early loan words borrowed in the Roman and sub-Roman period (roads, bridges, trade)                                      • Latin words presented the earliest group of borrowings in the developing English language that was later built on the basis of the Germanic tribal languages.       • Sixth century AD Roman Catholic Church in England and Latin is the official language of the church.                              • 8th-11th century Scandinavian invasions- English adapted French words which originated from Latin </div>]]></description>
