         <title>1889 : Charles Edward Brown-Sequard discovered the study of endocrinology</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Charles is known as the father of endocrinology because he was the first to attempt endocrine therapy. In 1889, Charles used extracts from animal testes to treat male aging. Although his attempt on "organotherapies" did not work, his work further help discover adrenal and thyroid extracts.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ernest Starling discovers the first purification of hormones. Secretin is produced by the small intestine to trigger the release of pancreatic juices. Starling then applied the word "hormone" to these chemicals. It can be argued that this turned out to be the beginning of the field of endocrinology.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1921, Frederick and Charles both discovered insulin in pancreatic extracts. They conducted an experiment on diabetic dogs and cured the condition with pancreatic islet cell extracts of healthy dogs. This then greatly transformed the treatment of diabetes. After the discovery of insulin, those who were diagnosed with this chronic illness were able to survive and live with their disease.</div>]]></description>

I am used to the world of endocrinology because I have been to many doctors' offices and hospitals over the past years. I am not sure whether I want to fully put my life's work back into diabetes because I believe it has taken enough from me. However, I would love the idea of being able to help other people who share the same struggles that I have throughout my life.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
