For instance, Australia rules football, it has a large base of followers. The games will be held in different venues across the whole country. 

There are so many popular sports here. Personally, my favorite game is Formula 1 Grand Prix. Spectators don't need so much background information, everyone on-site can easily feel the enthusiasm in the course of the game. Each year,  many world-class athletes coming to Melbourne for international sporting events. They have already been part of the city.

What is so interesting is that they have a list of 70+ sporting/activity related activities and growing. Many more sports on the roster than I was originally aware of!
