Management Strategies Rooted in Redemption

The 3 strikes rule.

Give students two warnings to change their behavior.
After the third strike send to a preestablished area where they can focus and fill out a form that asks what they did and how they can improve the situation.
Student raises their hand to indicate when they have completed the form.
The teacher will then have a short talk with the student and go over the form. Afterwards the student may rejoin their group.

Reintegration into the Table Group or Classroom

-When students have an outburst or do something that is hurtful or scary for other students it may be difficult for the other students to accept them back into the classroom.

Teachers can model the reintegration steps they want their students to practice in their classroom.
When a student returns to the classroom or table group the teacher welcomes them back by saying something like "(Name), welcome back! I am glad you are here to learn with us!"
The teacher will demonstrate friendly body language in the form of a smile, kind eyes, arms to the sides (not folded) and an overall amiable and pleasant disposition.
The teacher WILL NOT explicitly refer to or vaguely allude to the student's past actions that caused them to be removed from their table group or classroom.

Just like GOD gave us the BIBLE where we can find PURPOSE and GUIDANCE to apply to all areas of our lives.

This is why I will demonstrate the characteristics that a good citizen follows. These characteristics can be summed up in Galatians 5:22-23, where Paul listed the FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT.

I created these slips to give to students when they demonstrate one or more of the listed characteristics. I based the characteristics on the FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT. I had to adapt some of the attributes to fit into the classroom context.

The purpose of these slips is to recognize students who demonstrate the attributes I value in my classroom. Students will be able to "buy" prizes and experiences when they collect enough Shout Out slips.

These slips will motivate students to make positive decisions.

I really enjoyed creating these slips because it allowed me to integrate my faith into my public-school classroom.
