An idea to incorporate art into the classroom is that kids could do an art exchange with other students in the district or even in different states where they then can become art pen pals through the school. They would be able to give each other feedback and talk about each others work and encourage each other to do more. We can incorporate this type of art into our lesson plans by tying in recycling and plastic waste in with art. A program that allows children to draw still life drawings of animals they love! Some animals could include micro pigs, turtles, rabbits, Hamsters, chicks, hedgehogs, etc. The setup of the program would include a group of children who want to handle animals and make adorable art. This setup could include the animal(s) in the center with children and their canvases circling around them. We all saw this image and thought it could be a fun drawing of the earth and all its layers like the mantle, core, crust, etc. Art has a lot of benefits for children including decision making, imagination, and thinking.
