I would like to take my 1st graders to the library at IUSB on Tuesday the 28th. We would go to the 4th floor and look out the windows, discuss commonalities with elementary school libraries, and talk about college life in general. If there is time, we would like to cross the bridge.

Sam Brown

Here is the order in which I will be leading my second graders around campus:
1. SAC--to talk about living a healthy lifestyle
2. The library--We will talk about the access the kids have to books and technology
3. The ERC-- We will explore all of the resources the ERC has to offer.
4. The University Grille--We will talk about how this is a place you can eat and meet people
5. Greenlawn-- We will end here and reflect on the day--- talking about similarities and differences between our school and a college campus.

The theme I want to thread throughout this field trip is "similarities and differences between school as they know it now, and what school is like in college."

P.S. Here is a quick video showing the lanyards I made for the kids. Just click on the video and it will pop up right on padlet!

Mackenzie Hill

Here is a shadow lesson plan I wrote in school. I did a modified version of this here at lab school. Feel free to use all or parts of it. I would recommend making actual shadows using flashlights to help students who may have false preconceived ideas. I tried to get everything in one post, but I couldn't figure it out. You'll find other parts of the lesson above. Sorry! :(

Sam
