Juliet:

Act 4 scene 3

Juliet was re thinking of taking the potion because of the things that could happen and kept putting it off because of her thoughts. She feared that the potion may not work how it’s supposed to and that Friar may be tricking her.

Juliet: “What if this mixture do not work at all? Shall I be married then tomorrow morning?” (4.3.22-23) Juliet was supposed to take the potion so she would be asleep until Romeo went to get her but she then feared more and more as she thought about getting married to Paris.

Juliet: “What if it be poison which the Friar subtly hath ministered to have me dead…” (4.3.25-26) Juliet also thought that Friar could be tricking her by giving her a poison which is very harmful and could have her asleep forever.

Romeo:

Act 1 Scene 5

Tybalt wants to 🤬 Romeo for crashing the Capulet party. In the beginning they calmly talk, but as the fight continues Tybalt and Romeo both get angry (conflict). Romeo handles this situation by killing Tybalt, after Tybalt kills Romeo’s good friend Mercutio.

Tybalt: “It fits when such a villain is a guest. Ill not endure him” (1.5.84-85) Tybalt is angry with Romeo, and thinks he is a villain

“They fight. Tybalt Falls” (3.1.138)

Romeo: “O I am fortune's fool” (3.1.142) After Romeo stabs Tybalt, he says that he is the victim of fate for killing Tybalt

The two families:

Act 1 Scene 1

The Montagues and the Capulets don't get along due to an ancient grudge. Instead of being peaceful with each other they get into their third recent fight, because they are in each other's territory. They are not able to control themselves around each other, their anger gets the best of them.

Benvolio: “Put up your swords you know what to do” (1.1.66) They are taking out their swords to fight.

Prince: “Three civil brawls bred of an airy word

By thee, old Capulet, and Montague,

Have thus disrupted the quiet of our streets” (1.1.90-93) The Prince is disgusted with the disruptive fightin that has been going on with the two families.

Other Character:

Act 5 scene 3

Another character that also experienced conflict is Paris. Paris went through a lot and even died defending Juliet and the family's honor.

Paris: “O, I am slain! If thou be merciful, Open the tomb; lay me with Juliet.” (5.3.72-73) Romeo could not control himself and drew his sword to fight Paris and he was killed by Romeo because of his actions.
