El hotel tenia un sistema de alerta y un contacto directo con el Insuvumeh quien les informó a las 6 am sobre la posible erupción, asimismo las personas del hotel se encontraban concentrados en una sola ubicación, con recursos de transporte, comunicación y protocolos de evacuación mientras que las comunidades aledañas no contaban con ninguno de dichos recursos
