Today I learned to know my course mates little better. It is going to be good and definitely interesting almost two weeks together. I got already now lots of information about Guadeloupe’s cultural heritage and environment. We discussed about how internationalisation increases appreciation of each person’s own national identity and interest of your own culture. We learn about ourselves trough other people and other cultures. There aren’t one right way to do things. Our attitude changes when we learn new things from others. It always changes little about our identity and is unique to everyone.

Today I learned that everything is connected and learning from the eyes of the others is very important. I am sure that the following days are going to be full of new interesting input through Rita and the intensive exchange with my course mates. Rita‘s knowledge about culture is very impressive and I am looking forward to learning how to get my school more international.

It was a very interesting day. I think the following time will be full of a lot of experiances. I`m happy with the group. For me it was easy to come together.
Today I learned, that learning something about the culture of other countries makes our own culture more interesting for ourselfs and that we think more about who we are. It is not a oneway road!
I think of being a teacher. I decided it by myself after a long way of searching what I want to do. I want to teach pupils and see how they develop. And I like this work until now. But I`m not only a teacher. In the course today it became clear to me. And that all the things I do have an impact on the others.... So things could change. I think that this is hopeful.

Today I got to now the other course members. The information about where they come from and the origin about there names was very interesting.
Through Rita we learned about more about Guadeloupe, the nature and the people. How it was discovered and how it developed over the years.
We got to know more about the creole language.
It is very important to know your own culture and cherish it in order to learn about other cultures and understand them. By comparing the different cultures we can find that we do have things in common.
National identitiy happens through international work.

Today I met new people, tasted new tastes, was exploring the new corner of the world. I had an excellent day! I have repeated for myself that there is a reason why people behave in different ways: it's about the environment where they grew up, where they live, the history of their country and other very important things for individual growth. And all these things are creating our national identity, which is connected with our sence of belonging. It's very important and nessesary in global world to improve the habit to learn through the eyes of other people. That is fullfilling our knowledge and experience. And then you understand, that there is no one right way of life.

On this first course day we got to do activities that gave us a glimpse of who our course mates are, and it was very interesting, also because we got to see ourselves from another angle. It was a whole new experience to be working in a tropical-island-beach-scene, and I think that being so far from home lets us look at our identities and cultures from a different angle. We learned interesting facts about Guadeloupe, the most poignant being that for some inhabitants, the surrounding sea is such a painful reminder of their ancestors’ slavery, that they never want to see it.
Learning about the history and cultures in Guadeloupe led us to talk about our countries’ minorities and cultures. This was a good example of how touching internationalization and looking at other cultures also sensibilizes you to your own national identity, and enables you to understand it better.
In addition to all this, we enjoyed being in touch with nature, out in the open, in one wonderful spot on this planet - our home that we must treat better.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s activities!

Today, the first day of the training, I was intrigued by a lot of things: open learning, informal communication, new information on identity, internationality and nationality, personal values, active learning activities.

It was interesting to hear about a day of professional development for teachers in Guadelloupe schools. Comparing with our school experience, I realized that we can initiate systematic continuous learning by ourselves in small group discussions with teachers, with flexible scheduling. It is very important for teachers to have time to reflect on their activities, to plan and share experiences with their colleagues about the day-to-day activities of teaching children and achieving school goals.

As I understood during thinking about the meaning of my name, listening to others is very important: other people's observations lets compare own experience. Facing other people's experiences changes our attitudes and values. Trying new things helps develop your personal experience, expands your personal knowledge and experience zone.
