I agree that anybody can be a hero.Contrary to its stereotype, being a hero does not neccesarily mean , money and fame. Being a hero means to be brave even in the face of danger. Anybody can be brave. If someone saves a child from a fire then that person is a hero. If someone stands up to a bully then that person is a hero. Anybody can push themselves to be brave, regardless of who they are.

I agree. In some parts of the story, his very vague. He does not directly explain what it means. For example, on pg 20, “They lined up outside his door with their shiny faces and fake smiles and bags of hard cash.” He did not explain directly what it meant and for people with minimal understanding of the text, they will find it confusing. He also doesn’t really write straight to the point. Sometimes it will circle around unimportant topics.

For some people, they find it frustrating and stressful for them when facing hardships or challenges because they find it annoying to deal with or solve the challenge. For those kind of people, they have a fixed mindset and they don’t think that facing hardships will help them grow. I strongly believe that people with fixed mindsets will not grow from the challenge but will slowly lose interest and motivation in their goal and eventually stop working towards their goal as they think that the challenges are in the way of their goal and therefore they will stop working towards their goal. HATSOS is hard to read and it takes a long time to complete reading as after reading 1/2 of it, it has not captivated my interest and attention yet. You have to make an effort and be disciplined to read it. There are many names to remember in the story, and Salman Rushdie rarely explains his statements and circles around the same topic vaguely. If you’re talking inappropriately with minors, you will be investigated for pedophilia and being a predator, and then if so, jailed. If you are sending hate mail to someone with death threats, you will be investigated for harassment, in case you are planning to take action against another person. You will not be arrested for saying a phrase, you will be arrested for inflicting harm on others. These two things are different.

You can say whatever you want, you always have a choice. You just have to face the consequences of such actions, whether positive or negative. Saying words is not the crime, but inflicting harm onto others is.

In a slightly better context, if children were not forced to go to school, students may go to shopping malls and shop and play around, after a while, they would be bored too. In a real life example, there are times when people jaywalk and break the rules, sometimes ending up in accidents when cars drive past and hit them. In conclusion, there are many bad things that could happen if freedom was allowed.

The writing style is confusing and difficult to read, due to the use of difficult vocabulary, unusual names, and vague topics.

The vocabulary used is very difficult to understand and not what I usually read. Thus, it is hard for me to understand and it takes a long time for me to read. There are also a lot characters in the book, and it is hard for me to remember their relationship with Haroun and their personalities. The names of the characters are very unusual and especially hard to remember. Besides, the topic and message of the book is vague, making the book confusing and unappealing to read.

While I understand that some people may enjoy Salman Rushdie’s writing style, I feel that the book is unappealing and hard to read for me as of now.

Being a hero does not mean you need to have super powers like super strength or laser eyes. It also does not mean you have to be able to save the day every single time. being a hero means that you have shown great bravery and courage. Even if you have just gone out of your comfort zone to help someone in need, that is already considered a hero. A hero also does not save the day every time. They sometimes also make mistakes, but when they stood up to even help, it is already considered being a hero. For example, many people would consider doctors as heroes as they save peoples lives etc. However, doctors like surgeons are not always able to save everyone’s life. I disagree with this statement. People should not be allowed to say whatever they want. They should have a restriction and limited words that they should not use. For example, vulgarities. When people say it to others, others may find it offensive and therefore will affect the relationship/friendship they have. Speaking politically, words that will affect the relationship of two countries should be limited. No, I do not agree with this statement. Creative writers and artists should not be allowed to write and draw about anything, even if they are make-believe. There are a multitude of reasons for this. Firstly, I think that people might get offended and hurt. For example, when people publish fake stories or spread rumors that are not true, or even just writing hateful comments about someone might demoralise a person and hurt them emotionally. This might cause the victim to feel hurt and sad. Additionally, if a person spreads someone’s personal information or something the person does not want anyone to know, this act is not giving the person privacy. The person may be very embarrassed about it or feel very strongly towards the person who published it. This may cause unnecessary conflicts to happen. Lastly, the people’s words might tarnish the person’s image or reputation. If the person does not choose their words carefully, some of the viewers might read these and they will start to hate on the particular person.
I think that a creative writers and artists should only publish accurate information about a particular subject and choose their words carefully in order to avoid spreading hate, start conflicts and tarnish the person’s image.

I believe that silence is golden.
When it’s silent, the only voices we hear is the ones in our minds. Our own thoughts and opinions will stand out more when it’s silent. I think that the writing is very confusing but it is also appealing. Yes, anything. If it is offensive or explicit, they can still draw it. What depends is how they handle their work.

If it is inappropriate or offensive, it should not be posted online or shown to others. As the saying goes, “if you don’t have nice thoughts, keep them to yourself.” This logic should also apply to creative works. Keep your inappropriate works to yourself, and possibly a therapist if necessary. This will stop the wrong audience from viewing such content. And if you do post them online, they will likely be removed and you will likely be banned.

Creativity is about being able to think about anything, using your imagination. If there are limits imposed, it takes away the meaning and enjoyment of making creative works.

How would this be implemented anyway? Are you going to check every person’s house and personal belongings for a hint of a creative work that may not be appropriate? Are all creators under surveillance? I don’t think so.

Create what you want. It’s the posting and showing to others that should not be supported. If you do so, it’s to your detriment as your reputation worsens and authorities get involved (assuming it’s extreme enough)

Edit: I saw a lot of people assuming that writing or drawing was the same as sharing it for others to see. Why is that the case?

I love this statement. In the dull lull of human life, we need creativity to make our lives livelier and add a spark or colour to our cycle. In human life, without colour, there is no motivation, no creativity, no meaning to life. Life is just waking up, doing what is neede, and falling asleep. Imagine you doing that continuously from the start to the end of your life. We need to add colour to life- what better way than stories to steal into and try to taste a different life, where life was different? It also opens our perspectives by reading from another’s point of view. Stepping into a fun-filled world, it gives us ideas and thoughts that increases our creativity and gives us motivation to do dull tasks we would otherwise not want to do. Authors often use elements of the story to address real issues in life- by using artfully twined words, a deeper feeling can be evoked in the reader and let the reader understand important life lessons that you have learned from your unique perspective.
In the dark sky, they are the Northen Lights- something new and interesting and different, a break from boring reality.

Stories are amazing; they are the watercolour that flows through a blank canvas. They are wonderful and meaningful, in so many different ways.
