Parti Socialiste - The main political party on the left wing side of France, believing in democracy, a strong welfare state, and socialism

The first round starts with some candidates are nominated by a political party, however others run as independents. 
The top two candidates with the most votes run against each other after the first ballot takes place.
The second round takes place after this hinging out the turnout of the votes. After the representative for the EU is elected then France moves on to pick who will represent in parliament
Once the legislative elections are over the president then appoints a prime minister.
