With olfactory options added in (e.g. scents from creams), this could be calming and promote a less charged atmosphere.

Alternatively, you could offer something to focus on together (e.g. reading to the patient, or watching something calming with them that they would enjoy).

If the parent needs to focus on the meeting and conversation, nothing too noisy (or encouraging lots of noise) will be beneficial. For the children, a sensory corner (e.g. a seascape, or something else calming) with sensory toys, tactile trays, and other activities for fidgeting with or looking at could be an option. Looking at the bubble tubes and the light board in the video, this could be emulated more subtly with lights in the toys, or by having surrounding objects with soft lights or movements (small versions of bubble tubes, etc).
