The year previous I had gotten a concussion when I was playing running back and it had made me feel sick and have headaches for a long time; obviously I hated feeling like this. So for probably the first time in my life I made a decision that had repercussions and would improve my quality of life. It was the most difficult decision I had made to that point because I had invested a lot of time and had a lot of friendships with guys I played football with. It taught me that I have the power and ability to do the things that are best for me without the guidance of just my parents to choose what I do. After I quit I decided to play soccer once again. This being my senior year, I decided and my parents agreed that it would be best if I could finish High School at Wheaton North. This means that I would have to live away from them for the next year. I now live with family that is still in Wheaton. In all honesty, I think the transition has been positive. For me it is a good transition from High School to college with the extra freedom I am given.
