I chose this picture because in the parts 3 and 4 of the book, you can really tell that many characters are affected by sadness like the man in the drawing. The picture represents particularly Steve in his trial because he’s sad but is also trying to stay strong because the court case keeps intensifying.

The passage “ No matter what anyone says, i know you are innocent” reminds me of the movie Paddington 2 where Paddington, a young bear, got put in jail for supposedly stealing from an antique store. Paddington’s family believed him and knew that he was innocent and they were one of the only people that believed in his innocence, just like Steve’s mother.

Steve Harmon is still on an intense trial that is starting to get long and tiring for Steve. Steve is in a bad emotional state because of the pain he knows he’s putting his family through, although his mother is sure of his innocence. Mrs Henry is a witness that was in the drugstore right before Mr. Nesbitt got shot. She claimed that King was violently arguing with Nesbitt but her testimony was quick to be discredited by Mr. Briggs. Things started to get intense when Richard “Bobo” Evans told his side of the story. Mr. Evans was already in jail serving a sentence of seven and a half to ten years for selling drugs. Bobo Evans talked about how him and King planned the robbery themselves and made Steve check if the drugstore was free of people. Bobo was the one taking the money and some cigarettes while King was arguing with Nesbitt. Their argument ended with King shooting Nesbitt. The money they took was split between themselves and no one else.
