We use technology in this class, including our cell phones, and I believe hardly anyone becomes distracted. This may be partially credited to the fact we're in a university environment, but I believe this could transfer to younger students as well. It's not as distracting as you might think, in my opinion.

I think it is important for them to be exposed to technology, but in moderation. When I do use technology, I plan on using it for educational games or even quizzes. I like the idea of using technology to give quizzes because as the administrator of the classroom, I can limit the students to one tab that will hold their quiz, and the quizzes will be automatically graded.
