In Massachusetts, the Puritans and Separatists both migrated over to start a new religious life. The conflicts between the two of them may have stunted that growth, but it helped America not just expand in Massachusetts, but all over the land. The Quakers were the other interesting group because of the hate they got. If it weren't for the hate, there never would be a Pennsylvania. There is also Jamestown, where the colonists ideas were wrong. Instead of using there time wisely to build and make necessities, they tried to find gold. There were many more settlements like those in the Carolina's or Georgia that were not as religiously motivated but instead had the idea of starting the New World. They were very unpopular among the British people. They went to New England, Rhode Island and northern Carolina but were rejected everywhere they went. The Spanish influence in the southwest really grew the natives battle techniques and they built presidios. Even though the Spanish first landed in the Caribbean, the English had a more predominant influence on the region because they introduced slaves.
