The conversation is about where Maniac is from/lives.  Maniac says," I'm from Bridgeport."
"Bridgeport? Over there? That Bridgeport?" asks Amanda.
"Yep," replies Maniac.
"Well, why aren't you there?" probes Amanda.
Maniac answers, "It's where I am from, not where I am."

What is your interpretation of what Maniac is stating in the bolded line. What do think Maniac's message about history and living situation is?
