Men are only allowed to marry within their caste, and in no case should be permitted to marry a woman above their caste.

As a Hindu myself, I am familiar with most of these practices as my family had done of them. The article is accurate on how it portrays the Hindu practices and how it compares modern science to old beliefs. Obviously, some of these old traditions are outdated and not practiced as widely anymore, such as child marriages. The caste system still exists in India, and many people still identify with a caste, but it's not as strictly enforced as it once was. In the pursuit of moksha, Hindus' celebrate and pray to god and to get good karma and be united with Bhrama.

In America, Buddhism is viewed as a way to temporarily escape reality and focus on ourselves. The problems we face according to Buddhist philosophy are just things we don't see clearly. We create our own problems. We are the ones to determine what things are bad and what things are good. Meditation reminds us of how little time we spend in the moment.

Like Hinduism, Buddhists also believe in reincarnation and in karma and dharma. Buddhism also grew from Vedic religious traditions and unlike Hinduism, Buddhists reject the caste system. Buddha didn't believe in priests, prayers, rituals, and polytheism

The author talks about a book written by Robert Wright called "Why Buddhism is True" . The author, thoroughly talks about meditation and how it can affect peoples daily lives in the modern world. Many people have tried to debunk Buddhism but since it involves not many superstitious beliefs, they have failed to do so.
