The February 2022 British vogue cover used tone as a powerful cohort of reigning and emerging dark-skinned models who are dominating the modeling industry. It represents genuine change in an industry whereby society's evolutions are shaped and controlled by beauty standards. Tone is also used to convey black clothes are indeed beautiful in all skin types but they compliment dark-skinned women more. The cover also shows us that dark-skinned women now have an equal place among the most successful women in the modeling industry. The tone on the cover also influences a rather bold look coming from the models which is very iconic and uplifting for young dark-skinned women out there as well as the African continent. The cover gives off a cultural perspective, difference and wonder that will surely intrigue anyone reading the British vogue magazine.

I prefer the March cover of Naomi Campbell because it is more natural where’s the February cover has a more diluted concept idea of being natural as the women’s hair is not afro, which to me tells us that dark-skinned girls out there should feel insecure about their hair and buy weaves instead because that’s what their idols are wearing. In the February cover there is not enough diversity among the women in the cover as the women’s skin tones are edited darker thus making it seem like not being dark-skinned enough means you are not an actual black person for those black women who are light skinned. The catch phrase for the February cover  is “Full of joy and absolutely no compromise” but to me the women on the cover seem to serious almost robotic and controlled which gives off a mood of are they truly full of joy at least if they smiled a bit.
