I would define technical communication as professional writing with the audience of the communication being peers in the field, or people whose work relates to the field closely.

I see the use of technical writing in many places, but most often in the workplace. Memos, emails, reports, all of these are technical communications.

A main example i think of is a memo as it is a very broad technical communication. Another example i think of is scientific journals because they are meant for peer review and contain technical jargon and professional writing.

Technical communication is the practice of conveying complex information clearly and concisely to a specific audience. It involves using communication tools like writing, visual aids, and multimedia to effectively communicate technical concepts, instructions, and information.

I see the use of technical communication when I work in the pharmacy. We are always collaborating with doctors and other healthcare professionals as well as patients to ensure appropriate care is given.

When I think of technical communication I think of the man who lost a company a lot of money due to a simple error. Image wise I always think of a fax machine and office space.

-Technical communication is the process of explaining something in laypeople's terms. The ability to condense the important information from sophisticated topics into digestible content/instructions that most people can read.

-Technical communication is apparent all around us. When we all booted up our laptops for the first time, we were guided by prompts written by technical communicators. With technology advancing at astonishing rates, the need for technical communicators to be the middle man for laypeople and complicated machinery is greater than ever.

I would say my view on technical writing has changed a bit since the beginning of the semester. In the beginning, I was a bit pessimistic about the need for formal writing and although I'm still pessimistic I now see the other fields it can be used in, like instructions, especially with our gameboards, which don't require you to yield to a higher authority.
