We have notice you have been lazy to be around children and not do your work properly. If we don’t see your improvement to try your best to change, we will give you a notice letter to fire you. We will give you time to fix your laziness. In this centre, we try our best to help one another. You work really hard we’ve seen it but you have not been showing good behaviour for the last few weeks. You are really good with children when you are not lazy, we would like to remind you if you want to work with children you need to show all your energy.

Lately, I have been noticing that you have been treating others with disrespect. Even as adults, we tend to follow energy of the people around us. In order to make this disrespecting stop, I am suggesting you to think of how others feel when you disrespect them, and think to yourself ‘Would I want to be treated the same way I’m treating others?’ I understand that you may be stressed out with whatever you are going through or life in general but you don’t have to put it out on others, especially your co-workers. And please try to remember the saying “Treat others like how you want to be treated”

Hi, may i have a talk with you for a moment please to talk about always being late to work?. I know you have other responsibilities at home, but please text, call or email if you are going to be late for work. Having a routine helps too even by setting an alarm for when you have to get up and get ready for the day. When you don’t show up to work on time we get a little busy and the kids starts to get hyped up when there’s too many kids and not enough employees to look after them.

We noticed you have been on your phone around the children and not doing your job. If we don’t see your improvement to leave your phone alone, We will give you a notice letter to fire you. We will give you time for you not to be on your phone, There is a landline if there’s an emergency. In this centre, we try our best to help each other. You work really hard we seen it but have not been showing food behaviour for the past few days as its not acceptable to just checking on your phone or be on your phone in a work place. You are really good with children when you don’t keep checking on your phone. Even if you just look at your phone for a few seconds, there could be an accident/incident. We would like to remind you if you want to work with children you need to show all your energy and leave your phone in your jacket pocket. Notify your family or anyone who needs to be in contact with you that there is a landline phone if there’s an emergency and tell them the landline phone number.

Firing someone is very extreme- and so when you are speaking with colleagues use positive language such as "we hope to see change in the future" or "we would not want to look at alternate consequences". Of course bad behaviour if repeated over and over and over could result in firing.. BUT when you are speaking to someone you work with give gentle reminders and let the daycare managers worry about firing, removing someone from work. In general your responses are clear because you are explaining your reasoning. Well done team!

Lately, we have been noticing how you are on your phone most of the day and not interacting with the children in daycare. Some staff notice it for sometime now. That is disrespectful on this job, this work place to interact with children until the end of the day. It would be nice if you use your phone at home and not at the work place were there is children that’s looks up to us. Like there is a saying (monkey see monkey do). This will be your first warning on this, if this keeps up we will have to fire you. So please have respect with staff and children in the work place ad this a positive joyful place for the children.
