Climate Change by

I chose this topic because I care about animals and nature as a whole and can't see animals hurting due to the actions of our society. I also think it is important to research how we can help provide a new outlet to the next generation to bring our world to its original state.

The Science of Climate Change Explained: Facts, Evidence, and Proof

The article talks about the history of Climate change and how it affects the World as well. It also backs everything they talk about with scientific evidence and shows that it is human beings that cause climate change and not anything natural. One of the main topics is the correlation of the sun and volcanoes versus Humans, in this article it talks about how global warming is caused by greenhouse gasses and cannot possibly come from the sun or volcanoes. Due to the fact that these naturally occurring things cannot cause greenhouse gasses to rise which only leaves humans to cause the increase in c02 and greenhouse gases. The only thing the sun can affect is the livability of the planet itself, if we lose the ozone layer from an increase in greenhouse gasses then the sun will radiate more heat onto us as it is the only thing protecting us from the heat and rays of the sun.

As Heat Kills in India, Action Plans Save Lives

In this article it talks about how India's temperature is increasing and becoming unbearable for most people suffering from illness, elderly, as well as children. In the article it mentions, "This year, India's hottest months in 122 years of recorded history, have been marked by heat waves with temperatures reaching 40 to 45 degrees Celsius. There have been fires in forests as well as landfills, a 10% - 35% decline in crop yields, and power and water shortages due to higher demand." This statement should be taken very serious as high population areas are reaching higher temperatures which are sending heat waves to all the people within the country. This can lead to the temperatures rising in the surrounding countries as well. I did find it interesting that in order to help the affected areas they made a system that warns all surrounding people which also enhances the surrounding government to prepare for illnesses that will inevitably come from these heat waves.

This news article talks about how Small Island Developing States face many challenges, including climate change, environmental degradation, social and economic inequalities, and the commercial determinants of health. WHO is working to develop climate resilient, environmentally sustainable health-care facilities in SIDS. I also find it interesting that SIDS signed up to undertake a suite of actions to tackle NCDs, including improving access to mental health care, updating tobacco control legislation, and reducing populations' salt and sugar intake in the small islands.

Bill Nye does an amazing job of giving a rundown of climate change and even some ways of how we can help in our own ways.
