Limited Series Magic

I've recently been enjoying a great limited series on Netflix or wherever because it's this new form of TV show that allows for its moments to be broken up, but it also doesn't drag out because the story needs to be wrapped up at the end. Some of my favorite things I've watched recently have been limited series. There's a certain camaraderie I see in the casts because they stay on set to finish the entire story, and they're a part of something new and cool. The series are always a little more experimental and have very interesting subject matter.

This is a great article about my current favorite limited series, Midnight Mass. During the height of covid, the cast and crew went out to an island to film it together in their own little bubble. I'd love to be a part of such a powerful and cool project like this and get to work with amazing people.

I read the play Fleabag by Phoebe a while ago but I've recently watched the show and it's totally changed my point of view on what art can be. The play Fleabag is a one woman show written and starring Phoebe. It's hilarious and raw, and the show somehow managed to make it even better. Phoebe hired actors to fill in the voiceover roles and they're all phenomenal. It manages to enrich the story instead of taking away from the stage magic. It's really inspiring to see a woman who writes shamelessly through the female gaze and be so successful.
