There are three states of matter. Those three states of matter are solid, liquid, and gas. These states of matter are made out of little particles called atoms. Gas is always moving because there is so much space inbetween the little particles. When atoms are tightly packed together they are known as solids. You cannot walk through a solid because the atoms are packed so tight it is strong enough to keep you from going through. In liquid there is always a space between the atoms witch allows you to put your finger in a glass of water and pull it out and where your finger was you will see water.Liquids do not have a shape of their own they take the shape of whichever container they are poured into.
By Aayushi Mohanty

Matter is made of different types of atoms and molecules.

The three types of matter that we generally see are Solid, Liquid and Gas. There is another form of matter called Plasma however it is not usual.

Solid has definite shape and it can not be changed easily. Atoms and molecules in solid are squeezed together very tightly.

Liquid doesn't have it's own shape. It can take a shape of it's container. Liquid can flow because atoms and molecules are not squeezed as tightly as solid.

Gas also doesn't have it's own shape. Atoms and molecules in gas are even lightly squeezed than liquid.

When solid is heated it turns into liquid, and when liquid is heated it turns into gas. For example, when ice is heated it turns into water, and when water is heated it turns into gas.

Example of plasma is Lightning. It happens a lot in Florida so it's called the Capital of Lightning! :)

Abhijay Bhosale

There are 3 states of matter. Liquid, solid, and gas.

In liquid the atoms move constantly. There is a small amount of space between the atoms. Liquids fill the shape of a container.

In a solid the atoms move slower. There is less space between the atoms. Solids hold there shape. You can't see atoms with your eyes. You need a special microscope to see atoms.

In a gas there is alot of space between the atoms. They move very quickly. Gas doesn't have a shape. It needs a container to hold its shape.

Plasma is sometimes called the fourth element. Lava is a plasma.

Water is the only thing on earth that can naturally be a liquid, solid, and a gas! Amazing!

Emma Arndt
