What surprised me the most was how they can watch you while you sing to them, they learn while you do something to show them what or do to teach them something new. And you get to watch them what they have learned from you. It’s adorable to watch them as they learn new things in daycare.

What has surprised me watching infants and toddlers is that once they learn something new like walking, crawling for the infants, they like to explore and be independent while walking and they like to start climbing onto furniture even at the daycare not knowing that they can fall onto the floor.

For toddlers that has surprised me is when you tell them your name when you start practicum or work, they start remembering how to say it even when they don’t pronounce it properly, they start to remember more words, being able to ask questions and knowing what they want and dont want.

What surprised me the most was some of them have patient and some don’t, but still attend the circle time and the activities. One of the infant finally starting to walk and he’s learning so fast to walk and keep on walking instead of crawling. They are interested in singing and saying their numbers and colours and it surprised me they follow along when their doing the numbers and colours

Infants and Toddlers learn so fast!! I have been singing this one interactive song and they have been asking me to do that by pointing at my hands. This is not really surprising but I was so surprised that not even one year old infant knows their routine at the daycare, he knows when it’s apaapa time - crawls to where they wash they’re hands. Toddlers are really interested in dancing so I was actually surprised to see that one of the toddlers at Aakuluk daycare has really cute moves which made me think that they must have this in their regular routine at home. SO CUTE! Lol
