An assertive way could be respectfully telling your friends the reason for wanting to cancel.


How does body language affect this?


If you make gestures that are seen are rude or disrespectful your friends may be angry. If you are nice and confident and apologetic then it is highly likey your friends will understand your reasoning for canceling
