Raised Cross Walks

The Yalecrest area has recently added raised crosswalks and speed bumps. By implementing speed bumps, cars are forced to slow down, keeping the neighborhood safe for children and families. In addition, these speedbumps reduce cut-through traffic and really prioritizes local traffic. While the speedbumps might be frustrating to drivers, it ensures safety for pedestrians.

Grocery Store!

Within this little community, a local Harmons grocery store is nestled right in the center. This well-stocked grocery store provides the customer with a friendly, welcoming environment right down the street from their house! The implementation of this grocery store allows residents to not have to leave their neighborhood for groceries. Having a grocery store nearby also fosters the welcoming neighborhood experience that Yalecrest wants to provide for its residents.

Local Coffee Cart!

This little coffee cart has been a fun new addition to the neighborhood. On weekends and Wednesdays, you can find amazing coffee right across from Harmons. This cart has amazing customer service, allows you to talk to the locals in a fun outdoor experience while also meeting new people, and provides convenience for a killer cup of coffee! This adds to the welcoming vibe of the neighborhood.

Safe Sidewalks

When driving around Yalecrest, it is clear that they really prioritize the safety of their residents by ensuring that there are wide, safe, and clean sidewalks. During my time in the neighborhood, there were kids biking, people walking their dogs, and couples out on walks. These nice sidewalks allow residents and guests to walk freely around the neighborhood without having to worry about their safety. This also allows residents to walk from their home to get groceries, a cup of coffee or get breakfast at the local cafe!

Local Cafe

Emigration Cafe is located right in the center of it all in Yalecrest. This cafe offers residents and guests a spot to meet with friends, engage with the community, and get an amazing meal right down the street from their homes at an affordable price. On a nice day, you can find customers enjoying the patio while they say hello to neighbors, and take in the amazing view of the mountains. During my time in Yalecrest, Emigration Cafe was the local hub within the community, making it a fantastic asset to the community.

Visiting Yalecrest with the neighborhood's assets in mind gave me a new perspective and appreciation for their neighborhood. It is clear that while this neighborhood is small, it has so much to offer its residents and visitors. During my time here, I was able to see neighbors running into each other, businesses thriving, residents going for a walk, and exploring the different shops and restaurants. It is clear that a sense of community is very important to residents and businesses. For example, I stopped at the Yalecrest coffee cart and the gentleman who owned it was so thankful for our business and truly wanted to get to know every customer who walked up to his cart. This neighborhood has so much to offer and people should go check it out!
