-The United States, the African Development Bank, and the World Bank sprayed more than 750,000 houses & distributed over 1 million insecticide-treated bed nets to pregnant women & kids under the age of five.

-In decades after World War II, the use of the insecticide DDT started to help reduce malaria cases throughout the world. By the 1970s, use of DDT was linked to thinning bird eggshells. By 1985, after bird populations dropped, DDT use was banned in many countries. By the 1990's malaria made a resurgence due to the drop in DDT use.

-UNICEF takes part in many world organizations that help prevent & stop malaria; from 2008 to 2012, UNICEF procured over 120 million nets and provided support to over 30 countries.
