Report Cards Manual

RCs need to be final and ready for building purposes and should NOT be edited for the 15-16 school year. Changing report cards structurally or within Illuminate from one grading period to the next can hinder and hurt data expectations on such an official record for students, in addition to how data is collected in Illuminate.

Permissions

User attending and in charge of building need to have permissions to their own account or to the RC Builder/TestAdmin account prior to the training. Only Sys Admin can assign permissions so make sure to connect with that person before attending.

Knowledge of Value Sets/Scales

Each grade level has a way that grades are calculated. For example in 1st Grade and 80% could be a B or 3-Meets Standards. In Fourth Grade, an 88% could be an A or 4-Exceeds Standards. Typically this information is already communicated on the report card, but just in case, it'll be helpful to understand those cutoff points for all grades receiving report cards.

Optional but Helpful

1. Steps 1-4 of the attached document. Although we will go over these components during the workshop, they are fairly basic and easy to have completed on your own.
   
2. Custom Reports for "out of the ordinary data" not tied to Gradebook or Assessments such as State Data or additional demographics.
3. If you plan on using Canned Comments where teachers select from a list as opposed to writing their own, have those ready in a spreadsheet in all languages you are supporting for report cards.

Digital and Paper Copies of Report Cards for each attendee. We mark it up and get colorful to help understand what the report card structure is in Illuminate.
