  • Main clause: an independent clause that can form a complete sentence and must contain a subject and a verb.          Example: Michael kicked the ball.
  • Independent clause: a sentence that consists of a group of words & can stand on its own. It is a complete thought that has a subject & a verb. Example: I was late to class.
  • Dependent clause: a sentence that consists of a group of words but cannot stand on its own. It has a subject & a verb but it is not a complete thought. It is dependent to an independent clause to form a sentence. Example: Because I woke up late this morning...(what happened?)
  • Subordinate clause: used to add more information to sentences. Must be attach to a main clause to form a complete sentence. Example: Although I was scared, I crept inside.
  • Subordinate conjunction: have two clauses which is one main clause (independent) & one subordinate clause (dependent).    Example: I read the paper because it interests me.
  • Coordinate conjunction: connects words, phrases & clauses. There are seven coordinating conjunctions which is for, and, nor, but, or, yet & so (FANBOYS). Example: I take milk and sugar in my tea.

I admire her because she has contributed a lot of deeds towards myself. She has been helping me ever since I knew her. She gave me a lot of advices especially in enhancing myself to be more confident and be proud of myself. I have had a low self esteem ever since I was a child. One of my insecurities is my physical appearance where I had an abnormal height for my age. I am petite compared to other people who have the same age as me. I have always felt that I am limited to do anything that I want but she thought the other way around. She has encouraged me to just go for it. Until now, she has always been acting as my booster when I am feeling discouraged about something.  I have been improving my confidence level thanks to her. If I was not destined to meet her, I am still the introvert person that I used to be.
