I believe Dante's journey signifies human's worst sides. In hell, he explains the horrifying sins of humans and how they pay for their sins. However, Dante's journey also shows the audience that there is redemption for the human race, as he expresses people in purgatory purging themselves to soon enter Heaven. The journey shows the evils of mankind, but simultaneously illustrates the beautiful side of humans. It teaches us that we may make tons of mistakes in our lives which we will end up paying for, however, people can change and develop into holy beings.
